Origins

Alastair is a strategic creative based in Bristol, working at the intersection of brand, design and direction.

Over the last seven years, he’s helped shape brands, campaigns and digital experiences for schools, commercial businesses and ambitious organisations looking to sharpen how they’re seen - and remembered.

Alastair has led projects spanning positioning, verbal identity, creative direction, campaigns, websites and brand systems. The thread running through it all: clarity with character. Thoughtful strategy. Strong ideas. Work that actually moves people.

He’s particularly known for translating complex thinking into brands that feel human, articulate and emotionally intelligent, whether that’s repositioning a 400-year-old school, launching an organic food brand, or helping organisations sound more like themselves and less like everyone else.

His approach is balanced: strategic enough to ask difficult questions, creative enough to make the answers interesting.

Outside the studio, he’s usually obsessing over typography, transport systems, Scandinavian design, rowing machines, why some brands feel timeless and others feel like a LinkedIn post, and whether there’s a cleaner way to structure absolutely everything.

Why an asterisk?

It's a good question. First used by the Sumerians over 5,000 years ago, to denote additional meaning or information, the Asterisk conveys an additional depth of thought or curiosity.
