Branding

King’s is a school with over 450 years of history. The challenge wasn’t a lack of story - it was how to make that story feel relevant, energised, and clearly articulated for a modern audience. Through research and workshops, we identified a key tension: a deep respect for tradition, paired with a growing desire to move forward with confidence. That became the foundation of the work.

From that, we developed a central brand idea rooted in momentum - captured in the line: “Ever Forward, Ever Flourishing.” This tagline became a strategic platform to align the organisation internally and express a clear, compelling narrative externally.

I led the development of a full messaging framework built around this idea - creating distinct, audience-specific narratives that could flex across the Foundation. From there, the work translated into campaign. We developed creative routes that brought momentum to life across multiple touchpoints - prospectus, digital, social, and out-of-home. The language was active, confident and directional. The visuals reinforced a sense of movement, progression and purpose.

The result is a brand that feels both grounded and progressive - one that respects its history, but isn’t defined by it. More importantly, it gave the school a clear, unified way to communicate who they are, and where they’re going.

Why an asterisk?

It's a good question. First used by the Sumerians over 5,000 years ago, to denote additional meaning or information, the Asterisk conveys an additional depth of thought or curiosity.
